mom had her doctor's appointment today. He said the ct scan and pet scan were good. Basically everything is looking good at this point. She will go back in other 3 months to take another ca125 test to make sure the number stays low.

update

That last chemo treatment was definitely the hardest, but finally today mom is feeling much better. She is starting to getting her energy back.

In the middle of March she will go in for a CT scan and then a few days later meet with the doctor for the results. I will add the dates when mom lets me know.

Chemo is done

It was definitely the hardest chemo treatment for mom, but she made it through it and we are all very happy she is done. Mom made the nurses brownies and they loved them, they were all gone by the time mom left.

update

Mom had shortness of breath for two nights in a row at dinner time, so she went into the cardiologist and had a chest xray and heart eco/ stress test. The x-ray showed she was fine and the heart eco/stress test showed her heart is fine. The doctor did notice a slightly lower red blood cell count, so it is easy for her to just change her diet slighty to bring the blood cell count back up. She is feelign much better now.

update

A test mom took on Tuesday showed her white blood cell count was extremely low at a 2.4, so for 3 consecutive days she had to go in and get a shot to bring her white blood cell count back up, to stimulate the bone marrow and it raised the blood count to 20 by Saturday. Hopefully she will recoup faster after this Wednesday's 5th chemo treatment. Mom was able to celebrate this good news with her parents and brother Jamie and his wife Mary as they were here visiting. Dela and I were able to come and celebrate, too.

updates

Mom's CA-125 test is down to 7 and the doctor said it probably won't go lower than that. but just as long as its below 35 it is good. And he says after all 6 treatments she will have an 80% chance of never getting ovarian cancer again. Very good news.

Mom's neuropenia (low white blood count) is back again after her 3rd chemo treatment, so please don't visit her if you are sick.

Mom was learning some water arobics, but since she has neuropenia again, she probably won't go into the pool till she is done with chemo, we'll see what the doctor says.

Thanks again for all the prayers and dinners.
